| Since 1985 we have been involved
in retrofitting southern California structures to meet the state’s
mandated upgrading programs. Div: 88 of
the City of Los Angeles required all brick buildings built prior
to 1993 be reinforced to meet new standards. Ethan Teitler using
his contractors license and acting as vice president of a California
corporation oversaw the completion of over 300 buildings in a period
of six years. Since the inception of ETz, we retrofitted over 80
old structures, some on a design build basis. A few of these projects
included historical renovations, others were city or county structures,
churches and places of worship.
After the 1994 earthquake a new ordinance was adopted
to reinforce concrete tuiltup structures and other concrete buildings.
Under this program we have retrofitted near a 100
buildings ranging from small 10,000 square feet to over 250,000
square feet. We have also reinforced a few high rises and countless
historical buildings.
The seismic mitigating program has all but died
down as it applied to older buildings but we are still involved
in this program from time to time.
